Since 2002, Larry Mitchell has served on the Board of Directors of the ELDERfriends Foundation, a subsidiary of the Area Agency on Aging. The Area Agency and ELDERfriends serve the needs of the elderly and provide support to those who are involved in elder services organizations. They provide services which include, but are not limited to, shelters for abused elders, medical treatment facilities, caregiver respite programs, as well as programs to provide direct financial aid to the poor among the elderly population.
